counselling
Our priority is always to build a secure relationship base together. From this place of connection, we seek to understand your hopes, needs, wants, and stressors, as well as how your personal situation intersects with larger systems of oppression. Then, we can explore your situation from a variety of modalities, such as narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindful meditation, sensorimotor art therapy, inner child or parts work, trauma-informed yoga and embodiment. Sometimes we involve experiments or get playful to improve capacity to live with uncertainty. These different perspectives and practices can help us stay grounded in your wholeness as you choose the life direction that feels like the best fit for you.
one step at a time
We all have seasons of growth. Choosing to start counselling is an important and brave step towards making change. Often, the kind of change we are seeking is hard to describe; we just know that things can't continue as they are. That feeling of uncertainty that comes with new terrain is common, and part of my role as a therapist is to gently assist you in mapping out your needs as they emerge, and bringing in additional resources to support your journey as it unfolds.
we will navigate together
Change can be disorienting but it doesn’t have to be. We will engage in a conversational process of questioning, exploring, and noticing what arises together. We will pay careful attention to the innate wisdom of your body and nervous system, cultivating a deeper connection to the signs and signals our bodies give us when we are distressed as well as when we are in congruence with our core self. We will also explore how your environment is shaping your path and discuss alternate routes to keep moving in your preferred direction.
Tell me, what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life.
